Family Home Evening Lesson Plan Directions: Create a Family Home Evening Lesson that teaches a money concept to children and teach it. What age group is this lesson appropriate for? Children who is grade 3 up and adult. Topic (What money topic will you teach?): How to manage the money? Supplies Needed: Money, Chart, Scriptures and words of the living prophets. Opening Song: ___Hymn# 89 The Lord is My Light Opening Prayer: Lea Padilla Important Family Announcements: Church activities and S&I Class Lesson Body: What is the outcome of this lesson? _To understand where money comes from and how you should divide it up Questions you will ask: _What is the first thing to do if we have money or income? What goals for concerning finances do you have?_ Stories you will share: How we saved in order to be able to buy our first home while our children were little. _____________________________________________________________ Scriptures you will read: 2 Nephi 9: 49-52

Testimony you will share: That if you pay your tithing, save money, and invest in your retirement, you will be successful. God will provide you with everything you require, not just monetary rewards, but a plethora of other benefits that will appear in your life. I believe that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us so much. He wants us to succeed and receive all the blessings he prepared for us.

Concluding Activity (What activity will you do to help learn the lesson better): Each individual will be given three banks to decorate as they see fit. They will also add Savings, Giving, and Spending to the banks, after which we will go over the

money they presently have and divide it into the right categories so they can discover how much money they actually have. _ Closing Song: Hymn# 241 Count Your Blessings Closing Prayer: Jouanes Padilla Treats: Lumpia and Pancit Use your own family (or find a family/friends) to teach this lesson to. Submit a ½ page reflection on how this teaching experience went, along with this lesson plan.

I thought it would be fun to do this with my family. The first is a saver, whereas the second is a spender. What I discovered was that the saver desired to save all of his money and not pay tithing because there was no benefit to him, or so he believed at the time. He did, however, put money in the tithe fund. The spender, on the other hand, poured his money into giving and spending but not into saving. He stated that as he grows older, he will begin to save. We spoke about why he wanted to save, and he ultimately agreed he could put a little money in there. It was a fantastic lesson to teach because none of them are church members, and they understood why I pay tithes first before paying anything else. I went over many of the blessings I've received as a result of obeying the commandment, as well as how they'll be benefited if they pay their tithing even to the church they go to on a regular basis. Once a year, I'd want to conduct this lesson to see how much they remember and how they're doing with the procedure....
