But it is only because I believe a degree in Geography is extremely cool and useful. When people think of geography, they think of the countries and where they are. It is hard to see the significance in that. And I will admit, I did not think there was much more to it than that when I signed up for a geography major. However, after having now taken a couple of classes, geography has changed for me. Yes, geography is about the countries and what features they have, but more importantly it is about how people interact with each other and the landscapes they are in. It is about how people have evolved based on the geographic factors they have been in. It is about culture and the things that are important to people all around the world and how they differ and why they differ. Geography is about appreciating this beautiful world that Heavenly Father created for us. It is learning about all the nuances on this complex Earth that was given to us. It is about God’s creatures and creations. And that is important to me....
