Analysis of an argument: “Saturday Disasters: Trace and Reference in Early Warhol,” Thomas Crow. (First published in Art in America, 75 (May 1987), 129-36.)

What is Crow’s thesis? (explain it in your own words)

Crow sets out to look closely at the pictures. He is looking at the subject matter but also the technique of making the pictures. He claims “there is a close link between technique and meaning.”
