What role does culture play at Zappos? The organizational culture at Zappos plays a significant role in employees beliefs,

expectations, values, norms and their routine. This organization is different from others, because it not just holds the employees, but has a playful and positive atmosphere, which promotes great the attitude of workers towards each other and their specific types of jobs. It also helps groups of people to interact with one another and cooperate on the way to organizational goals. The Zappos organization enhances positive attitudes of employees through the laid-back and playful atmosphere. However, as one woman from the company claims: “The job at Zappos is tough, but it is a dream job”. For employees of this organization, this is a dream job, since the company really cares about the staff, putting them in comfortable but at the same time conducive to productive work conditions. The culture of this organization is very playful, but at the same time, everyone fulfills their obligations. The big plus of the culture at Zappos is the fact that workers are allowed and even necessary to manifest themselves as personalities, what helps them to be creative and promotes the openness to experience. Therefore, it leads to the highproductivity and stimulates personal desire of employees to invest in the prosperity of the organization.

2. What activities does Zappos encourage to strengthen the culture of the company? Zappos does a lot of useful entertaining activities to strengthen the culture of the company.Zappos has a great positive and motivational atmosphere between workers and customers during their routine. There are various activities, which strengthen the culture and relationships between people in the company. For instance, their office is full of bright colors and daily activities in order to psychologically defuse workers during their work. There are hilarious parades, karaoke, birthday parties organized not just for fun, but also to establish good relationships between people. Also, the company encourages to dress the way workers want to dress, decorate their workplace, in order to express themselves creatively.

What impact does a “customer service first” culture have on operations?

A “customer service first” culture does a great impact on the prosperity of the company, as it directly depends on it. As we may know, there are different rules and policies for all companies. Some of them force people to behave with the clients the way it is written, but not in case of Zappos. This organization has a relaxed and even humorous approach to its customers, so employees are opened to a new experience and individually tailored to the needs of each client. Through such activities as entertainment events with the participation of their clients (parade with visitors), the company evokes their trust and a positive attitude. Zappos provides world-class customer service. Also, by visiting their website I could notice how it is easy-to-use, so my experience as for a client was very enjoyable. It is one of the worthy examples showing us that Zappos not only

wants to sell its goods fast, but they created a convenient way for all the customers which allows them to make their purchases easy and pleasantly. Through this video, we can see how creative their approach is. It is this factor that makes this company even more recognizable and contributes to its development with all the internal components, such as relationships among employees, mindset, success in the market and etc....
