Recent M.F.A Grad from UWM Teaches Drawing Classes at UWM Scenic Designer in Theater Blind Contour Challenge: Trying to draw something without looking down at the paper. It is an exercise to force you to look at the reference rather than focus on your idea of the reference. Helps with detaching the eye from the hand. In his undergrad, he made an installation project that made a parallel between blind contour and meditation Took a trip to Rome (which he highly suggests for everyone to do) and made it a project to do blind contour in churches and in other destinations around Rome He then took a break to focus on theater His influences: William Kentridge, Andrew Wyeth, Romanesque Architecture, Eduardo Chillida, Meredith monk: Book of Days, and Anseim Kiefer Adam made art that did not look like these works, but still were awe-inspiring for him Took stop-motion animation at UWM and made a few art films using sand animation techniques Asks: How do the spaces we inhabit- especially the sacred spaces- also inhabit us? Touch is integral and enhances the experience rather than thinking Memories are engraved in us He is interested in incorporating body and architecture in his works currently...
