Kimberly Adkisson History 100 1-3 Short Response: What is History For? 10/29/2020
We found out a few months ago that my daughter was pregnant with her third child, a little boy. After many tests it has been confirmed that he has a type 2 Chiari Malformation as a result of spina bifida. “The first recorded case of spina bifida was in 1085 AD in Arabia and later given a name by a dutchman, Nicolaas Tulgius, in 1637,” (Anencephaly). Without documentation and past medical research, we wouldn't have any knowledge of treatment for this condition. A strategy for being conscience of presentism would be to consider the progress made with this condition and how it’s allowed for even more discoveries in other similar conditions.
