2-2 Learning Journal The article I choose for this assignment was 13 Great Benefits of Online Learning. My takeaway from this article is that these days there are so many benefits to online learning, it being cheaper, more access to videos from talks, and helps with shy people. After the pandemic started most college students had no choice to go online, and from the many college students I work with they preferred it that way. Students can still work full time jobs and do their class work when it best suits them, instead of having to find a job that works around their crazy class schedules. One thing that could be changed about this article is the argument to be had on why in person classes would work out better for some people instead of online. This article is personal to me mainly because I am a very shy person, I do not like to meet new people or talk in front of people I do not know. If it is a subject I know a lot about I am a very confident talker but if it is something new I am learning I would much rather just read or watch videos to learn all I can and not have to be asked questions about it. I have also found it works much better with my life being a mom and working a full-time job, I can pick and choose the best time to study for our schedules. It is also a huge added bonus that online classes are much cheaper than in class ones and works better with my budget. When I went in person for the

few classes I took last time I was in college many years ago I would have to drive 45 minutes to the college I was going to, so that is also money I am saving on the gas driving that far to class. I understand that there are people out there that do not agree with my opinions, but I think I am just bias that online learning is the best because it works best for our family. My belief is that online learning has so many benefits to online learners and can work so well for most of them, especially the ones who have started a family. I realize that there are several arguments to be had that this claim has weaknesses and that we all have different ways we prefer to learn, and that online learning does not always work out for everyone. One could apply the five practices to this by saying that I could lead the way to help others realize that this way of learning can be better for them especially moms. Also it was a challenge when I started and trusting the process that I would get the hang of this online learning thing, but I did end up trusting it and it has worked out wonderfully for me thus far.
