5-3 Summative Assessment Part One: Feedback and Revision Reflection I.

Feedback and Revision Reflection A. Revision has never been my strongest suit. In the past I have found that small scale revision as well as proofreading out loud works well for me. When doing so I tend to catch missing words or notice if something doesn’t sound quite right and fix it. B. Though I will be using both large- and small-scale revision when revising my critical essay, I would like to try and focus on large scale revision since it is what I struggle with. I always seem to need work with adding specific details, tone as well as identifying the author’s claim and purpose. C. Reviewing my writing plan feedback influenced me to revisit my selected reading to gain a better understanding of Sedaris’s claim and identify specific key points to support it. With this I can create more substance and detail in my writing to support my work. D. After receiving feedback, I will clearly state Sedaris’s claim and key points to support it. In addition, I will explain how Sedaris’s humor help him engage and convince his audience. Furthermore, I will add specific details to explain Sedaris’s writing effectiveness.

II.

Audience A. The audience that would benefit from the essay will be non-traditional college students who are eager to learn a new language. These students will be faced with the challenges that learning a language entail.

B. A potential challenge I might face connecting to my audience would be not being able to write clear and engaging details to get their attention and their interest in reading Sedaris’s article. C.
