Summative Assessment Part One: Feedback and Revision Reflection

I.

Feedback and Revision Reflection A. Revision has never been one of my strongest points. In the past I have found that proofreading out loud works best for me. When I do this, it helps me catch words and or phrases I have missed. In doing this it has helped me out tremendously in revising my schoolwork and my daily writing. B. Although I will be using both large- and small-scale revisions when with my critical essay, I would like to mainly concentrate on larger scale revisions since this has been a weakness of mine. I always seem to leave out important details such as author’s tone and specific details. C. Reviewing my writing plan feedback, I was encouraged to revisit my selected reading and really understand Braaksma’s claim and identify new elements and key points. With this I can add additional detail to my writing to help support my work.

D. After receiving feedback, I will continue to state Braaksma’s claim and focus on key elements of job security. I will add details to support his writing.

II.

Audience A. The audience that would benefit from this essay would be high school and incoming college freshman students. Any teen or preteen would benefit from this article. B. A potential challenge I might face in connecting to my audience would be the age difference between us. Also not being able to write clear and provide engaging details to get their attention and keep them involved or interested. C. I would like for this essay to be entertaining and to be able to capture their

attention. Maybe some detailed information that they can relate to their lives as well....
