Josiana Laiz De Paula ID 22013 Dr. Lyndon Augustine Organizational Theory 1 October 2020 Participation 6 Ted Talk Summarize The TED Talk “Igniting Creativity to Transform Corporate” by Catherine Courage talks about innovation in the workplace by igniting our innate creativity from childhood. According to her creativity is a birthright available to all but used by few. To ignite creativity is necessary to look back in our past. When we are a child who used to question the world, we were curios about everything. Catherine says that for it happens is necessary to open our minds looking for new possibilities and challenging the status quo. Microsoft, Google and Lego are some of the companies that are investing in spaces to explore creativity. (2) Experiments are necessary. We are not able to innovate by repeating the same thing. (3) Storytelling is the third strategy that Catherine Courage says it is important to ignite creativity. Spreading ideas through stories that touch people is an amazing way to explore creativity. Joint Venture means separate entity created with two or more firms as sponsors. Goals include knowledge, sharing complementary technological strengths, lower production costs and distributing new products. Acquisition means offer greater control than joint ventures. General Electric is a good example of it. They created an inexpensive portable electrocardiogram machine for sale in India, where medical practitioners face power fluctuations. In my point of view, global expansion can provide several advantages, including greater opportunities for market growth and diversification. However, to a company has a successful international business. They need to have a good management and keep everyone at the same page. Marketing and production facilities in many countries is important as well. Also, it is important to keep in mind cultures are different around the world, so process and structures need to be flexible and ever-changing....
