Tan’s novel has a large influence on the broader American culture, because the realities of what were brought to light of Asian woman, speak for woman of all cultures. It serves as a constant reminder that these injustices and wrongs still exist, but those things should not limit or stop anyone from living in their purpose and fighting for a better life.
