Abstract Professor Ahmad Fawad a poet, columnist, translator and a novelist was born on 10th June 1903 in a shangla a beautiful village of Martung. His father name is Abdul Qayyum. He got basic education from his home. He studied in Government school Martung District Shangla till 3th grade. His father was a private servant in Sindh that’s why he shifted with his father there, where he completed his matric from Tamer-e-Millat High school and shah Wali Ullah Oriental school and college Mansoora in 1979. He completed his F.A from Karachi Board and then went to Karachi University. Where he got his B.A from in General history, sociology and English. He also obtained his master degree in English from the same university’ Besides pros and poetry he also showed his skills in journalism. It was the effect of such environment that he was appointed as sub Editor in Urdu Newspaper Called “jasart”. After that he was associated with “Nawa-i-Waqt”. magazine and also

worked as associate editor in a journal called “waqt”. He used to write columns and different topics related to literature and politics and also worked for radio Pakistan. Fawad started poetry at very young age and wrote his first ghazal when he was a student of 5th class. He developed his own style of poetry in urdu literature. According to him he is a careless about his poetic creativity that’s why most part of his poetry collection can’t published. His published poetry collection “Ye koi Kitaab nahe ”, “Dil warq warq tera” and “Aik jaanib Chandni” His Pashto poetry collection “Ka ta raghle za ba gul sham” is also published. He also translated a book called “swat state” written by Prof Dr Sultan i Rome. Beside poetry his novel “Ye kaisa dukh hai” is also in its last stages of completion and will be published soon. I have chosen Ahmad Fawad’s poetry collection “Aik janib Chandni” as my research thesis topic. The purpose of this research is to determine the position of Professor Ahmad Fawad in Urdu

literature by introducing him among other poet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa....
