ASSIGNMENT: Now write your own action plan (Part of a Portfolio assignment) REQUIREMENTS: The career action plan should include at least one (1) career or life goal you have for yourself while you’re in college, AND another one (1) career or life goal you have for yourself after college that will enhance your future career goals. This is a total of two (2) goals being discussed in the paper. Identify the goals; why you have chosen them and why they are important; discuss specific actions you will take to reach each goal and provide a timeline for each action taken (when will you take each action to meet the goal you set for yourself). The career action plan paper should be 1-2 pages in ESSAY format. It should include a cover page that reflects your full name, student number and due date (the cover page does not count towards the 1-2 pages). This is an essay, so it should include a strong introduction, body and a conclusion.

(For example, if one of your goals were to gain more relevant experience in your future career field prior to graduation, you would discuss the different steps you could take to reach that goal: internships, join a club /organization / association, volunteer opportunities.) Be specific. You wouldn't just say "join a club". What club addresses your need to get more experience/exposure in your field? Why did you choose that particular club? What are the benefits? You must include a timeline, and identify when you will take these actions to reach your goals. How you will be motivated?

Dear Sir/Madam, When I learned, about my interest in sales and marketing I decided to explore these fields more. I learned about my interest in these fields when I was working for a telecommunication company as a door to door sales agent. I really felt compelled to make my career in sales and marketing. To be a highly skilled and results-driven professional sales and marketing expert I need to combined my skills and values with my professional education and that’s how I decide it to study sales and marketing in a community college. To make a successful career in sales and marketing there was a need to set some goals and achieve some mile stones to accomplish these goals. My first goal was to get a part time job as a sales agent or a marketing coordinator with some good company. My ongoing college education and my college’s internship program make it easy for me and I landed up with an internship in a marketing department of a fitness company. My job duties includes working with marketing and sales team, writing minutes of meeting, Developed and maintained social websites contents and managing team mail box. I was also a part of sales team which use to develop leads for fitness magazines. For a short period of time I also worked on a front desk to increase the membership of the fitness gym. I used my all knowledge which I gained from my college education and my good communication and selling skills from my past work experience to make my internship successful. My honesty and my integrity with my internship render me an asset to my department team and ended up giving me up a full time position after my studies. I worked with the fitness institutions for almost three years as a marketing coordinator. But my goal was to make a successful career in sales and marketing so I started to work on my second goal and that was to earn a bachelors degree in sales and marketing. I joined a reputed university to achieve my bachelor’s credentials. During this period of time I was exposed to variety of sales and marketing streams and techniques. My university studies introduce me towards the digital side of marketing which was a way more attractive than print based. I decided to get more knowledge in Digital Marketing as it was promising and took it as one of my specialization subject. I applied for a Digital Marketing Analyst position in my company to get more professional knowledge in this field. My university education really helped me a lot to get this position. But there were other few challenges involved to keep this position for a long time. I was awarded a contract position for three to prove myself in this field. The work environment as a Marketing Analyst was really challenging and performance oriented. You need to perform to keep yourself on the top of the game. My good analytical, time management and work under pressure skills really helped me to survive this contract opportunity and I was able to convert it into to full time job offer with a good pay and incentives. As a Digital Marketing Analyst time by time I need to keep updated with the current marketing trend and technology. I need to put some more efforts to learn analytic tools and computer application to come up with good and trustworthy data

for my managers and stake holders. As a Digital Marketing manager my jobs duties are preparing reports and data for managers, performing analysis and research on marketing data, work closely with marketing and sales team and provide them solution on marketing and sale issues. My commitment to the job & my previous work experience and expertise in marketing will had contributed immensely to the success of my team.
