Jessica Tietjen Professor Brandi So English 102 15 November 2017 Alternative Edition/Allusion of fences The trailer shows a father talking to his son about responsibility. The father talks about how a father takes care of his of his son by clothing him and feeding him. His son asks if his father likes him. Liking his son according to his father means taking care of his basic needs. The video shows family troubles and shows a dysfunctional family. The father and mother discuss working hard for eighteen years of their lives and trying to raise a family. The cultural elements involved in this trailer indicates how black dysfunctional families dealt with everyday issues. Fences is a play that dealt with black cultural issues in the 1950’s. it deals with a dysfunctional family dealing with real life issues involving real life drama’s that elevated to dramas in the home.
