Argument Essay Brainstorm 1. What major topic are you writing about for your Argument Essay? Racism, and how it has effected our nation. 2. List 5 specific questions that your Argument could seek to answer: o How has racism effected our nation? o When did it all begin? o Why has there been racism? o What causes racism? o Who is the one responsible for racism? 3. What question do you think is the strongest (which questions will create the most original argument)? This will be the subject of your essay. How has racism effected our nation? 4. “So what?” (Why does this subject matter?) This subject is an informative on racism being a major issue.

5. “Who cares?” (Who should care about this subject? Who does it effect?) The people who have been victimized by racism.

6. List 5 main points that support your argument and answer your question (list all five because you may use one of these points in the conclusion, to open up the conversation): o Slavery in the U.S. o Native Americans o Jim Crow Laws o Post 9/11 and racism towards Middle Eastern people. o Racism Today 7.
