Description

Hofstede's 6 Dimension Model I will be comparing Canada and India for Hofstede’s 6 Dimension Model. Making a Canada-based organization established in India would have a huge impact on the organizations due to cultural differences. One of the key differences both the countries have are Power Distance and Indulgence. Canada has a power distancing level of 39 in contrast to India at 77 showcases how the organization would be lacking in communication in India. Due to a strong sense of hierarchy within the class system of India, people do not seem to be treated equally and are expected to be dependent on the higher-class members of society. Eventually, this would negatively impact the organization during the time of decision-making within or outside of the organization, as the teammates will not agree with one another during the meeting and discussions due to social and class differences. To be a successful organization, the key point is to communicate efficiently and freely among the individuals and the teams, without these an organization would never be successful. The major challenge the organization would face in India would be of how to make people communicate openly and effectively with respect and courtesy. Canada has 68 indulgences while India has 26; this difference shows how optimistic and easy-going Canadians are as supposed to Indians, who may seem to be more restrained by social norms. This type of mindset would cause a degradation of the profits of the organization as social norms tend to control people’s desires and impulses and make them feel discouraged and unmotivated. These factors influence how people think and work in an organization, as it affects the ideas and strategies of an organization of which they are planning to implement in the market. To keep people engaged and motivated, an organization needs to come up with different strategies and ideas to change the way they think and work.

MBTI sample test I did the test, and it says I am an ENTJ-T “Commander”. I agree with the most part of the result, I feel like I am definitely more extroverted than introverted. For instance, I am comfortable in large groups or if I am given the opportunity to meet new people. I am also more of a ‘Thinking’ over ‘Feeling’ type of person; for instance, when making decisions, I rely more on my intuition and own sense of right vs. wrong, rather than using logic. I am also more of a ‘Judging’ person as I complete a task that I have started and take the deadlines seriously, which helps me organize and schedule my day-to-day activities properly and efficiently. I am also more ‘Turbulent’ than ‘Assertive’ as I tend to do things and make sure they are done properly and perfectly without any error and try to improve myself by trying new things differently. However, I mostly do agree with what the report says as it describes my personality type with accurate terminology....
