Research Studies for Extra Credit: SONA Participant Instructions Thank you very much for your participation in research studies for extra credit. Please follow the instructions below to enhance your research experience. 1. Go to https://uiuccba.sona-systems.com/Default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f to sign up or sign in to the SONA system. Please use only your Illinois Net ID email for this platform. For a new SONA user, you can click “Request Account” on the homepage. 2. Once you log in, you can go to the “Study” section and look for available active studies to sign up for. Researchers will post their studies throughout the semester. Thus, please check the SONA site regularly throughout the semester for available time slots. 3. You can manage your SONA account on your own. The user profile page will show the extra credit classes you are taking this semester. You can see the total credit requirement, number of credits you have earned so far, the studies you signed up for, and the studies you missed (ones you signed up for but did not show up to). If you miss more than 3 studies, the SONA system will not allow you to sign up for more studies. Please contact [email protected] if you have any SONA issues. 4. Please note that studies you sign up for can run as long as 50 minutes. Please only sign up for a study session if you can devote the full 50 minutes to the study. It is also important to arrive on time because late arrival will mean missing the instructions and therefore not being allowed to participate. 5. After each study session, you will be given more information about the research topic being studied. This is your opportunity to learn more about the topic, get a list of additional resources and readings, and get contact information for faculty researchers in case you have questions.
