Description

Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is an interwoven string of emotions that perfectly describe Beethoven’s life at the time. While listening to it, I find that such emotions spill over as what Beethoven meant for me to feel, given as all of his pieces demand to be felt. The first four notes were very familiar to me as I had heard them all through my life at random intervals, mostly in movies and in moments where a crowd needed to pump up for something. I felt that familiar emotion of greatness rise up in me and for a moment felt as if I could rise to any occasion thrust upon me. The theme then turned to something beautiful and I could hear again how much of a genius Beethoven was as the melodies and background noises wove together like a tapestry of perfect nouveau art lines, curving in and out and connecting perfectly. The second and third movements were not as dramatic as the first four notes, but still beautiful and brought up emotions of triumph that I had felt in my life, and also emotions of sadness. Having a few ups and downs in my life, I see now that I have triumphed over just about most of my troubles, and can now feel proud in my accomplishments as such, knowing that I did the best I could. I feel as if Beethoven wrote his fifth symphony in pursuit of showing his fans his feelings, knowing that he had triumphed over what life had thrown at him, which was more than his fair share. We all, hopefully, feel like this at one time or another in our lives. It’s human nature to feel sadness and anger and want, but it’s the nature of Gods to feel triumph and love and to be content with all you have been blessed with....
