INTR INTRODUCTION ODUCTION Before any engineering/building work is done, it is required to know beforehand the plausible cost of construction known as the Estimated Cost. A tool called Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) is used before, during and post construction of a proposed project. It includes the cost of materials, labour, equipment and other resources needed to ensure the successful completion of the project.

QUESTION A 5 bedroom flat has the following load, recommend the appropriate distribution board (DB) for such building.

1. 38 no of 9W Energy saving lighting bulbs. 2. 5 no of 20W ceiling fan. 3. 35 no of 13A socket outlet. 4. 10 no of 15A socket outlet. 5. 1 no of cooker. 6. 1 no of washing machine. 7. 1 no of pumping machine. 8. 2 no of Refrigerators.

CONCL CONCLUSION USION Prior to the above estimates given above, the Estimated cost of the electric wiring of a five (5) bedroom flat building isN2,021,457 (Two million, twenty-one thousand, four hundred and fifty-seven Nairaonly). Also, the Estimated Load consumption is given to be 367A, 24ways. Therefore, the recommended Distribution Board (DB) for the building is a 400A, 36ways, single phased Distribution board....
