Assessment Overview These assessment tasks will assess your skills and knowledge required to establish and implement project governance. The assessment is divided into three (3) assessment Tasks which will assess your ability to identify a project management structure; apply project governance policies and procedures; and monitor and review your project governance policies and procedures. You are required to complete all assessment Tasks and be assessed as “Satisfactory” in each to gain competency in this unit BSBPMG520 Manage project governance. Assessment Tasks Overview Assessment Task 1 ‒ Questioning You are required to respond to a series of short-answer questions to demonstrate your knowledge across key concepts and variables related to managing project governance.

Assessment Task 2 ‒ Project You are required to develop a Project Governance Plan in response to a simulated workplace scenario. This assessment task requires you complete multiple activities which include:

Assessment Task 2 – Project Scenario: OzMarket Consulting has been engaged to project manage the construction of a multi-storey car park in an inner-city business area. This project has a budget of approximately $2,000,000. This is the largest project undertaken for both OzMarket Consulting and for you as the project manager. Using this project, answer the questions below. The client superintendent on this project has final say on all roles, the responsibilities of the roles and is the person with final ultimate authority for the project. During this Simulated Workplace Scenario, you, as the project manager, are to seek approval from the superintendent to engage personnel to fill the identified roles. Create a project organisation chart outlining the position of each role within the management structure of the project. As one of the stakeholders is OzMarket Consulting, you will need to create a secondary report that outlines to OzMarket Consulting Management – that is, your superiors at OzMarket Consulting - any and all differences in functional authority between OzMarket Consulting and this project. Question 6 After a small amount of research on the relevant stakeholders, you become aware that very few of them have worked within a formal project management framework previously. Create a PowerPoint presentation which can be sent to all stakeholders outlining the project governance plan and ensuring each stakeholder understands all terms and implications. Ensure the presentation provides all information on the relevance and importance of proper governance planning. The presentation should give an overview of how project management differs from project governance.
