C304 Task 3 ePortfolio Shell Quality and Safety Fostering safe conditions signifies beneficence and understanding for patient well-being, which enhances the quality of care and favorable outcomes. A principle element of quality and safety is to avert and diminish accidents, mistakes, and injury which manifest while providing healthcare to patients. Quality of care and safety encompasses enhancing proficiency while performing procedures, acknowledging patients' beliefs and traditions, and placing focus on patient and family while administering care to optimize favorable results. As an Intensive Care Unit nurse, placing quality of care and safety at the forefront of my practice is paramount in delivering superior patient care. My approach to providing optimal care is centered around a personal philosophy to provide, assist, and educate them, in the same manner, I would want to receive treatment. I pride myself on having a smile displayed when appropriate, listening attentively with compassion, all in hopes of brightening an otherwise sad circumstance.

Evidence-Based Practice Evidence-Based Practice is an essential component in the field of nursing. The knowledge gathered from day-to-day developments accompanied by investigation through scientific research studies assists in framing individual nursing practices. The quest for information to curtail unfavorable results, confront normalcies to institute innovative and more productive care methods, and consistently maintain focus on your patient is the foundational commitment of nursing. An attribute of an accomplished nurse is acknowledging personal improvement because of ongoing evidence-based practices. In the Evidence-Based Practice and Applied Nursing Research course, I became aware of the importance of research analysis and the guidance it provides in the world of nursing. The course of study directed me to contemplate scientific data and apply findings in my practice. In nursing school, I learned step-by-step how to do and in real-life work settings, evidence-based practice teaches to assess, reassess, and transform care plans to coincide with each patient's needs.

Applied Leadership Applied leadership is not about being the one in control but about valuing and appreciating a person's morals. It necessitates concentration, consideration, creativity, and supporting a heartwarming profession. Leadership within nursing is patient-directed with superior patient care as the principal objective. Respected nurse leaders pursue honest concepts, display a readiness to contribute precedents in the quality of care and safety in their nursing practices, are example setters, acknowledge imperfections, and are an influence to other nurses. I strive to be an innovator by presenting and discussing how results are enhanced by demonstrating benevolence to my patients and by adhering to proper methods. I aspire to be a favorable exemplar with reassuring discussions and evaluations with the objective that inexperienced nurses will adapt their work habits into rewarding and positive experiences for themselves. As an Intensive Care Unit travel nurse, I have to adapt to various environments and familiarize myself with unfamiliar methods, which has broadened my knowledge and skillsets within the nursing profession. Travel nurses are in need for numerous reasons. Many of the hospitals I have visited employ newly graduated nurses who are eager to learn and require guidance. I draw upon my leadership skills to assist the new nurses when approached and teach them new techniques or advise them on any questions they may have. Travel nursing has enabled me to become an effective leader during my assignments.

Community and Population Health Every society experiences distinct medical dangers and issues. Presently, the entire world is encountering a virus that has shut down economies, placed lives and careers in limbo with the quarantine, and left many pondering their futures. I put life on hold to complete my education and thankfully have not experienced working during this time. During my Community and Population course and research of my South Georgia community health statistics, I learned of numerous health conditions that afflict this rural society. With the information I collected, I formulated a plan for the community to defend against the spread of HIV/AIDS through educational resources. I recognize through my research that my small, agricultural section of the world is not unlike urban sprawls in many ways....
