Virtual Interview Best Practices for Candidates In preparing for your virtual interview, be sure to verify your set-up. You will be using Codility’s Codelive for your Virtual interview. While most browsers are compatible, not all are. Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox or the new Edge Chromium (you can download here).

A few more tips to ensure success: • • • •

Prepare your technology ahead of time and check all the permissions and functions you will need. Confirm your sound and video are working properly in the browser. If using headphones, confirm they are connected and selected. Use a room/area that is free from any possible distractions. Be sure to put other devices on silent, so you aren’t interrupted by errant noises or beeps. As a back-up, we recommend downloading TEAMS. With several tech companies turning to virtual interviews right now and utilizing code editors, there is the possibility of issues. We don’t anticipate one, but better safe than sorry. Your interviewer will be prepared for this as well.

Once you have this all set, you’re ready for your interview. Please read the instructions below carefully and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Good Luck!

Codility CodeLive Instructions 1. Please use the Room Link provided in your logistics email to conduct your Interview. Use Edge Chromium 79+, Chrome 57+, Firefox 59+, Opera 44+ or Safari 11+ to Access. 2. In the Codility app, make sure “I’m a candidate” is selected, then confirm your link by adding your email address and at least your first name.

Virtual Interview Best Practices for Candidates 3. After filling out information and clicking the “Join as candidate” button, you will wait for the interviewer to connect before you are taken into the interview environment.

4. Once the interviewer joins, you will automatically be taken to the screen page. From here you will need to click the Green Join Call button in the top-center of the page. (This will not automatically join you with your camera on, as the ribbon suggests)

5. Once you join the call, you will need to un-mute your microphone and enable your camera using the buttons shown below.

Virtual Interview Best Practices for Candidates 6. Your Room Link will provide access to all your interviews for this event. Please stay in the Room Link for the full duration of the event (do not close out of tab/page). After each interview, you may click on “End Call” (see picture below).

7. At the start of your next interview, click the Join Call button at the top of the page and ensure both your Microphone and Camera have been enabled. Repeat this process for all times listed in your logistics email.

If needed, you can also move the Person boxes by clicking in them (avoid mute or camera buttons) and drag to see the menu behind (see next point).
