1. Before masculine nouns, the uno of these numbers (31, 41, etc.) becomes un; before feminine nouns, it becomes una. E.g.: treinta y un libros, treinta y una mesas. 2. You generally write the numbers 16–19 and 21–29 as one word. The numbers 16, 22, 23, and 26 have accents on the last syllable: 16: dieciséis 22: veintidós 23: veintitrés 26: veintiséis 3. When used before a masculine noun, veintiún (21) has an accent on the last syllable: veintiún días (21 days) veintiuna semanas (21 weeks) 4. From 101-199, use "ciento": 100-cien 101-ciento uno 102-ciento dos 116-ciento dieciséis
123-ciento veintitrés 131-ciento treinta y uno 158-ciento cincuenta y ocho 174-ciento setenta y cuatro
199- ciento noventa y nueve
Notice that "y" is used only in numbers 31-99 (and 131-199, 231-299, 331-399, etc.) and it is not used to separate hundreds from tens.
5. To get to 1000, all you need to do now is learn to count by 100s all the way to 1000, and that is quite easy: 600 -seiscientos (-as) 700 -setecientos (-as) 800 -ochocientos (-as) 900 -novecientos (-as) *1.000 -mil
*Notice that "one thousand" in Spanish is mil. And we don't say "un mil;" it's simply mil.

100-cien 200-doscientos (-as) 300-trescientos (-as) 400-cuatrocientos (-as) 500 -quinientos (-as)
1.000-mil 1.500-mil quinientos
(one thousand) (one thousand five hundred)
2.000-dos mil (two thousand) 3.000-tres mil (three thousand)
6. The Spanish numbers 200, 300, 400 up to 900 have masculine and feminine forms. For example: doscientos libros - 200 books (masculine noun) doscientas plumas - 200 pens (feminine noun)
7. Finally, in Spanish a period is used to indicate thousands, and a comma is used as a decimal point. Spanish: 1.234,567 would be the way of writing mil doscientos treinta y cuatro coma quinientos sesenta y siete English: 1,234.567. Pronunciation of years: The years in Spanish are pronounced the same as other cardinal numbers are. Thus, for example, the year 2010 would be pronounced as " dos mil diez." The English custom of pronouncing the centuries separately — in English we typically say "twenty ten" instead of "two thousand ten" — is not followed. Saying "veinte cuarenta" instead of "dos mil cuarenta" would strike native Spanish speakers as an anglicism.
