Description

Megan Dempsey Professor Eaton Theo 3305 3 April 17 Case Study 6 1. What elements of the principle of subsidiarity do you see present in Fr. Greg’s approach to gang issues in his parish neighborhood? -Rather than coming from the outside, and implementing what he thought would help the gang rid neighborhood, Fr. Greg, sat down and became involved in the community. He opened his doors to the people, and listened to their problems, figuring out what they believed was the problem. The principle of subsidiarity is exactly this, being concerned with the constituents, rather than outward politics as a whole. 2. How does this align with the principles of CST? -There are two principles that align with the gang members needs for employment. The first is that they have the right to enjoy a flourishing life, they have no opportunity to flourish if they do not have the ability to make a living. Furthermore, the second principle is that poverty is a scandal, without money to afford a basic living, these communities are pushed into poverty, which is against their dignity as humans....
