Why is it important to understand that both nature and nurture shape an employee’s personality?

Nature is biological heritage, genetic makeup and nurture is the life experiences that people have. It is important to understand the employee’s personality because manager can put them into the right position. Managers should not change employee’s personality because it is harder than putting them into the right place. 4.

Is it good for organizations to be composed of individuals with similar personalities? Why or why not?

Organizations would like to have individuals with similar personality because they attract each other, and they will work better being together. On the other hand, individuals with opposite personality would most likely to leave the organization. 8.

What levels of the needs for achievement, power, and affiliation might be desirable for an elementary school teacher?

An elementary school teacher would set a clear goal and make sure all his students can achieve her goal and this is the need for achievement. A teacher needs the power to control his students and he need to show that he has the ability to convince his students. In the need for affiliation, the teacher needs to make sure students in his class treat their classmates nicely and equally. Therefore, students can work well together. 10. What are the three ways in which ability can be managed in organizations? The three ways ability that can be managed in organizations are selection, placement, and training. Selection is that managers needs to select individuals who have the ability they need. Individuals need to meet the goals of their manager to be selected. Placement: managers need to measure the ability of each individual and place them accordingly. Training is part of nurture, where individuals get to learn some experiences and understand how the organization work. This will help improve their skills and ability. Therefore, they will perform well in the future.
