e Assessment Task 001

This task requires you to plan and implement 3 experiences for preschool children that promotes their language and literacy development; through group and one on one activities. Experience 1: Select, read and tell a developmentally appropriate story. This will be conducted with a small group of children. Experience 2: Select a range of puzzles and offer guidance to children one on one to complete successfully. This can be conducted in a small group situation. Experience 3: Provide a range of materials to offer an art and craft experience (for example box construction, pasting etc.) As you plan your experience you will need to think about: 

How you will present the experience e.g. where, introduction, setting, transitions, resources?

Achieving outcomes and goals. Selecting appropriate resources.

How you will support the children to participate at a level that is appropriate to their ability, comfort levels, but learn by making mistakes.

How you will provide challenging elements yet maintain safety.

How you will manage the experience – how will children be involved? What rules might you establish?

Review and discuss your plans with your workplace supervisor and have them sign off on each experience. Implement the experiences ensuring that you engage as a participant with the children as well as being available to support and encourage them. Observe and document the children’s engagement with the experience. Think about how they use and develop their skills. Documentation required: a. Document the resources to be used. b. Plan your 3 experiences c. Document any health and safety issues and how you will address these. /home/www-data/deploy-task-2021-0809_08_10_00/storage/pdfconv/d397b30ff05a71778d45afa33c862b81/d397b30ff05a71778d45afa33c86 2b81.docx

d. Discuss with your workplace supervisor and have them sign off your plans. e. Document how the children engaged in the experiences – what skills did they demonstrate. f.

Document how you collaborated with the children to extend and develop on the experience.

g. Document and reflect on how you supported the children during the experience e.g. How you promoted their development. Document your answers on the attached ‘Experience Templates’.
