COMM 103 FINAL EXAM REVIEW DOCUMENT The following represents an overview of the Comm 103 (Fall 2019) final exam. The intent of this document is to assist students for their preparation for this final course requirement. Final Exam Structure The exam contains for parts and carries a total point value of 120 points. The exam itself, represents 30% of your final course grade. Your final grade for the exam will be determined as follows: (Points Earned/120) x 30 The exam contains four (4) Sections Section 1 – 60 pts There are 60 multiple choice questions relating to textbook material. The questions are focused on postMT exam chapters (4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, & 15). Question emphasis lies on key terms and concepts associated with each of the chapters. Although there are questions from every chapter, chapters 10, 11, 12, and 15, have a bit more weight assigned to them. Look to understand the key chapter models identified in the table below. Section II – 30 pts There are fifteen (15) questions relating to the Foundation Business Simulation. The focus of these questions is on three items: 1. The Team Member Guide – key basics associated with managing your company and the overall competitive landscape 2. The Decision screens –can you interpret the data being presented 3. The Foundation FastTrack – can you interpret the data being presented

COMM 103 FINAL EXAM REVIEW DOCUMENT A number of questions will show you charts and exhibits from the Foundation FastTrack, or a portion of a decision screen (Production, Marketing, Finance, R&D) relating to the FBS simulation. You will also be expected to draw conclusions relating to price, costs, margins, company valuation, and the ratios presented on page 1 of the FastTrack.

Section III – 10 pts This section contains four (4) short-answer questions (each worth 2.5 pts). You response for each questions is limited to ½ page (single space) or 1 page (double-space) in your answer booklet. Be sure to be specific and succinct in your response. The questions cover the major post-mid-term themes/concepts (Ethics and CSR, Operations, Marketing Mix, and acquiring and retaining customers.

Section IV – 20 pts This section contains a mini-case. There are two (2) questions associated with the mini-case, each being worth 10 pts. The case focuses on a summation of post-mid-term material (marketing, operations, venture analysis). Working through the cases at the end of chapters 10, 11, and 12, will assist in your preparation (although the case focus may be different). Think in terms of…do I understand the situation? What is the challenge or complication which I need to respond to? Given this, what are the critical questions? What are the answers to these critical questions?

Be sure to place your Student # (print clearly) and your Comm 103 course section # (001, 002, 003, 004, 005, or 006) on: o Your Multiple Choice Summary Table (Answer Sheet) o Answer Booklet o Exam Upon completion of the exam, your copy of the exam and your Multiple Choice Summary Table (Answer sheet) are to be placed inside your exam booklet and all three items are to be turned in at the Proctor Table prior to leaving your exam location.

Exam Fundamentals       

Your responses to the exam are to be written in “ink”. Go to the exam location which you have been assigned (set up by surname). Remember to bring proper ID to the exam location. Leave all electronic devices at home. Remember to bring a “Commerce-Approved” calculator (Casio 991 series) Avoid bringing pencil cases, etc. Do not bring your exam preparation notes, study aids, memory sheets, etc., into the exam room.
