Description

Dear E&F Students As you know the exams are not taking place on campus this exam session (27th April – 15th May), but instead they are being held via WISEflow and to be taken ‘at home.’ There are many guidance documents available to you on the ‘exams web pages’ https://students.brunel.ac.uk/study/exam-dates as you can see listed below, which includes some very useful and easy to follow video guides. There is also a WISEflow information pop up in BBL.

Please see the links below to help you with your 'At Home' exams. • Candidate Guide for 'At Home' Examinations • How to Access Exams that need Photos of Answers Uploaded (Mech Eng) • How to Submit your answers as Photos using your Phone • Information for Students with Additional Needs • FlowHandin Video – when you are expected to submit multiple files/photos, or other file types • FlowMulti Video– when your answers are entered directly into WISEflow Check our Coronavirus portal for more information for Brunel's community. The exam period can be a stressful time, so remember there’s support available from the Welfare Team in the Student Centre. •

The majority of E&F exams will be via ‘FlowHandin’ to enable you to upload more than one file, as you will need to upload scans/photos of your answers, calculations, diagrams etc. (see link above) There may be a handful of ‘FlowMulti’ exams if the majority of questions are multiple choice (set up by the academic) and these will be answered in WISEflow (see link above) We strongly advise you to practice preparing scans/photos for upload before the exam period starts, so you are fully prepared Your exam paper questions will be available on WISEflow at the start time and date of your exam (please check your exam timetable again) You will see any extra time added for your exam on the exam paper (extra time given to allow for uploading answers – SEE NOTE BELOW**) You will see the end time on the FLOW Answer questions on lined paper where possible Add your ID number to each page of your answers, including workings out and diagrams There are details on the exam paper of who to contact if you have a genuine academic query on the paper and who to contact if you are experiencing technical difficulties If you have a DDS profile and have Additional Needs this has been factored into the duration and/or additional paper added (see also link above) IMPORTANT: If you are answering your exam on paper or in a separate document (i.e., your exam is a FLOWhandin) you should keep WISEflow open during the exam and check regularly for any updates. For very long exams please ensure you log in regularly to see if there are any updates.

**In order to ensure that you have uploaded your answers in time, we strongly suggest that you stop writing before the additional time that is permitted, to allow time to scan (or take photos), number individual pages and upload your answers onto WISEflow. This additional time is provided to ensure you upload your answers in time – not for you to continue writing. Should you choose to continue writing during the time that has been allocated for uploading, this may result in you not having sufficient time to upload your answers. If this is the case, you will receive a zero mark as you have declared yourself fit to sit this exam. We will be very strict with this. Wishing you the best of luck in your exams....
