PART C - EARTHWORKS

ITEM 100 – CLEARING AND GRUBBING * This item shall consist of clearing, grubbing, removing and disposing all vegetation and debris as designated in the contract. Tests: None ITEM 101 – REMOVAL OF STRUCTURES AND OBSTRUCTIONS * This item shall consist of the removal wholly or in part, and satisfactory disposal of all buildings, fences, structures, old pavements abandoned pipelines, and any other obstruction which are not designated or permitted to remain. Tests: None ITEM 102 – EXCAVATION * This item shall consist of roadway, drainage and borrow excavation and the disposal of materials. Tests: Same as for Items 103, 104 and 105, whichever is applicable ITEM 103 – STRUCTURE EXCAVATION * This item shall consist of the necessary excavation for foundation of bridges, culverts, under-drains, and other structures not otherwise provided in the specifications. If the excavated materials are washed, the volume involved shall be reported so that quality control requirements may be adjusted accordingly (submit Project Engineer Certificate of Waste).
