Description

Conclusion In conclusion, the crimes of the powerless receive more attention than the crimes of the powerful because of their disadvantage. Blue collar criminals lack the resources to prepare for crimes as well as corporate criminals, white-collar criminals and state criminals do. Effectively, the justice system is built to their disadvantage, as it is composed of mostly upper-class people. The media seems to be agaisnt them as well, as lower classes do not control what goes out to the public and what is published.

Statistics etc aren’t always accurate and damage the reputation of lower social classes, which only makes it worse for them. its hard to get recorded crime: victims might not wants to report for diff reasons racists incidents very rarely recorded because (see notes) dark figure or crime Michelle Alexander points out that lower classes got more attention for the crimes they committed than other classes. Crime is a social construct -> separated by social classes etc...
