Paragraph One – Peter the Great was the czar of Russia from 1692 - 1725 and the reason why he is described as an absolute monarch is that he was someone who ruled without anybody sharing the power of ruling. After Ivan the Terrible, the Russian nobles decided to put Peter’s family on the throne, and then in the late 1600s, Peter came into power. Peter the Great began the modernization of Russia and made his army larger and stronger. He faced the problem of government officials taking too long to approve his plan of modernizing the country, so he made it so the czar had more power. He influenced the nation to become stronger and to become more modern. Paragraph Two – William and Mary were king and queen of England after the Glorious Revolution and they were constitutional monarchs because Parliament where the one who chose who ruled.

When King James II fled to France, William and Mary were named king and queen. They made it so that people had a right to a fair and speedy trial. They had the problem of making King James II leave the throne. Paragraph Three – These rulers were similar because they both did good for their countries and for future rulers. They were different because Peter the Great inherited his crown, William and Mary were chosen for the crown. Peter the Great had more power than William and Mary because Peter was an absolute monarch. William and Mary set the precedent in being constitutional monarchs and being chosen for the role by Parliament. Peter the Great increased the power of the czar but also reduced the power of nobles by doing so....
