Political Views assignment Directions: students will complete two different surveys and then answer questions created by the teacher to further understand their political views or leanings. Task one: Political Spectrum ● Students should visit the following website and complete the survey. ● Answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper or google doc: ○ Identify four statements from the spectrum quiz that you feel are most important to you. Why did you select each? *Be sure to list them in order of importance* 1. Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society’s support. 2. All people have their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind. 3. Abortion, when the woman’s life is not threatened, should always be illegal. 4. Governments should penalise businesses that mislead the public. ○ Identify four statements from the spectrum quiz that you feel are least important to you. Why did you select each? *Be sure to list them in order of importance* 1. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. 2. The most important thing for children to learn is to accept discipline. 3. People with serious inheritable disabilities should not be allowed to reproduce. 4. ○ How do you feel about the results of the test? “And why” ● I feel like they were not to bad because I am libretarian and that is what it put me as although the test was not very god in my opinion.

Task two: Political Typology ● Students should visit the following website and complete the survey. ● Answer the following questions on the same sheet of paper or google doc: ○ Identify four statements from the typology quiz that you feel are most important to you. Why did you select each? *Be sure to list them in order of importance*

1. Poor people today have it easy because they can get government benefits without doing anything in return 2. Black people who can't get ahead in this country are mostly responsible for their own condition 3. Most people who want to get ahead can make it if they're willing to work hard 4. The obstacles that once made it harder for women than men to get ahead are now largely gone ○ Identify four statements from the typology quiz that you feel are least important to you. Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy 4.
