Everybody called him Medard, after the saint, because he used to work at the national weather service. They were fighting all the time but their relation was still eternal. They spent their time arguing with each other without this altering the stability of their relation. They seemed to be attached, linked by an invisible wire, and they gave the impression of being doomed to flee each other forever. Not a gesture, not a word, could make this curse sweeter....
