User Requirements:
Two tables with appropriate attributes. Validation and verification processes. Input and output screens. Two data entry forms for patients and appointments. Test plan.
Purpose: There is an established doctors’ surgery in my local county, and they have asked me to develop a new appointment system for them. They want me to make a database for over 600+ people.
How will it help the client? It will help them a lot because I will be making something for them which they will need and is very important to them.
What type of database will be made? - The database I will be creating a relational database which will contain entities, relationships, and attributes. The advantages of this type of database is that the database itself will have reduced redundancy and consistency. It will also allow me to link specific tables to each other, allowing for a more detailed database for the doctor’s surgery. - A relational database is more expensive and time consuming to develop.
How will users utilize the database? - A webpage to view current appointments that are available including times and specific dates. - A user input form to enter their name, date of birth, address, and their phone number.
Hardware and software resources that will be used? - A working computer to develop and create the database. - A server to run the database. - Microsoft Access to develop and create the database. -
