Summary

This is the final writing assignment for DAD-220...

Description

DAD-220 Professor Gibbs Robert Skillern 18 October 2020

1. Analyze the results of queries to identify specific information that can be presented in your summary. a. The frequency of returns by state. Before I looked into returns, I wanted to see what top 10 states had the largest producing sales by state.

Now that we know what our top producing states are let’s see what states have the most returns.

b. Analyze the percentage of returns by product type. Next we look into the Returns by product and see the percentage of return rate.

I Also wanted to see the total amount returned by product.

Summarized Analysis

Above you will see the SQL commands I used to pull the reports that I need to provide you with this analysis. I am first going to start with what I think are potential flaws in the data I was not able to pull due to the commands not working with in each other. Second, I will explain why the data I was able to pull will be useful to the company and my project manager. Third, I will go over angles of information that I was not able to pull and information that need work. As I stated before there are flaws that I was not able to overcome. One being that I was not able to create a three-way joined command between the RMA, Orders and Collaborator tables. What I wanted to do was show the percentage of return rate by state and product. However, I am only allowed to use a SELECT command once in a SQL command entry. This I find is a flaw because I was not able to pinpoint the product return rate by state. The product manager might disagree with me being able to understand everything that I pulled from the database. We can see the returned amount by state and the product that is being returned by amount and percentage of return rate. I also pulled the product sales number by state and region. This helps in seeing where our highest buying market by state is at along with the region. This helps because we also see that the return rate is coming from our highest buying market.

As I stated in the Flaws not being able to use two SELECT commands did not allow me to pull the most accurate information that I could pull. This information would allow us to find out which state has the highest percentage of return rate by product. That way we could pinpoint issues either in sales, or issues within the product itself. Also, we would be able to explain

better to share holders who see that the Basic Switch 10/100/1000 BaseT 48 port is our highest seller and our largest returned product with a 19.7 % return rate we are losing almost 20% of the profits with returns of our largest seller....
