Diet Analysis Essay Assignment

After logging in all the food I ate within the 48-hour range it almost seemed like there was a pattern in the foods I ate, usually I do eat some of the same foods day by day. After looking at my log, it seems to be a pretty consistent diet and meal routine I stay on. I will usually have my high carb foods in the morning because I know my body will naturally work it off throughout the day. My breakfast may vary from the few selections that I enjoy in the morning. Depending on what my body is craving I may have some eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast and other mornings I may have cream of wheat with some toast with butter or jelly. For lunch I do enjoy having something a little more heavy to hold my appetite until it is time for dinner. For lunch I might have some homemade pasta along with homemade bread since I do enjoy the process of making food for either myself or my family. Other days I might have a salad with grilled chicken and my select choice of vegetables so that I can implement that source of vitamins for my body, the chicken will be the source of protein that my body needs. The heavy side of the meal may be the sides whether it is beans and rice with some chips and salsa. When it comes to dinner, I usually tend to have a lighter dinner or if my parents cook I might have a small portion of whatever that may be. I would say dinner is the least consistent meal of the day because it really depends on what everyone wants as a family, not just up to me. But again, whatever I may have

for dinner I will usually have a small portion of that. Now here is where the struggle of my diet comes in. The worst thing when it comes to a well balanced diet is eating late. I am a constant snacker. No matter how late it may be, if I’m hungry. I will grab a little snack whether it may be a bag of chips, some oreos, cereal or even grilled cheese. Another one of my struggles in my diet is juice. Now as we all know, sugar is very addictive and juice definitely will fulfill that craving. My favorite choices of juice are Minute Maid, Cranberry juice, Lemonade and many more. Although I do drink a lot of water throughout the day to help keep me hydrated and I do know that drinking lots of water is very healthy even when you are not so thirsty, just to keep your body hydrated throughout the day and even the night as we fall asleep to energize our bodies. When calculating my calorie intake including my breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was just about at the level I needed on a daily basis. The only things that did hinder that diet was the late night snacks and the amounts of juice my body intakes a day. I did learn that in order to keep a healthy diet, I have to watch my sugar intake, watch my carb intake, implement a good night sleeping routine to give my body it’s time to regenerate and most importantly keep it consistent. Although giving up the late night snacking may be hard along with the sugar intake. I did learn that I should have more for dinner to keep myself full throughout the night so I can prevent the late night snacking to help me achieve that healthy diet. I will be dedicated to taking little stepping stones to accomplish my goal which will benefit me in my everyday physical and mental health....
