Differences and Similarities of Impromptu and extemporaneous speech



For impromptu, it is on the spot. The speaker has no time to prepare for his or her speech. Extemporaneous speech has more time of preparation. The speaker has allotted time to prepare for the speech. Extemporaneous speech is well planned.



Impromptu is delivered instantly. Extemporaneous speech is delivered with notes. Extemporaneous is more prone of blabbering.



They are both one of the major types of speech



Both should have normal delivery style



Impromptu can be conducive for elaboration



Guidelines can be used for extemporaneous speech



Impromptu can be seen on business type, settings, educational settings while extemporaneous speeches can be used in every setting

Doing a manuscript speech is basically reading your speech directly from his or her copy. This is usually done if the speech is quite long.



Public figures media personalities, and spokespersons for government and private organizations are usually those who do this type of speech.

Memorized Speech



When you do a memorized speech, you are basically reciting your speech directly from your memory.



Actors and actresses usually do this when they have a movie or commercial to shoot.
