Digital stopwatch design report Name: 1 ID: 2 3 4 5 Abstract The aim of the report is to show the processing of digital stopwatch design. The design mainly consists of a 555 timer, two counters, BCD to 7 segment decoders and 7 segment indicators. In addition, the detail weekly process is shown in the report. Introduction The objective of digital stopwatch project: To design a digital stopwatch which can be started, stopped and reset. It should be able to count up to 59 seconds (i.e. from 0,1,2,3....57, 58, 59, 0, 1, 2, 3....) and output the seconds by a pair of 7-segment LED displays. The digital stopwatch consist of fve main blocks: a 555 astable circuit to provide clock pulses, a decade counter to count from 0 to 9, a counter from 0 to 5, BCD to 7-segment decoder/driver and 7-segment LED displays, switch inputs and system control. In this design process, students can have certain additional design. In our group design, the reset switch is added. Moreover, the reset switch is the same switch with master switch.
