It is a client/server computing model that uses a multi-user operating and a method for spreading the display of an application's interface to a computer. It is ideal for creating intranet-based networks because of its low cost and robust capability. It has many benefits over conventional client/server computing and it is common due to its ease of management and administration. A costbenefit analysis of the netcentric computing world against the conventional client/server computing environment. The reliability is assessed using a fault tree reliability model. It provides proof that a higher level of reliability has been achieved. Netcentric computing is influencing at all stage including desktop, embedded, server, workstation, and mainframe. The improvements that are taking place will have an effect on virtually every area of how we design and use computer hardware and software as well as how we design and use tools, the applications we create and how they are created. The way communications and networking are affecting traditional computing determines the essence of this emerging industry. It's more like a collision than a convergence because it is unpredictable, unstable and non-linear. This new computing system is attempting to rebalance itself by forming new relations between zones of operation, breaking others, developing new areas of activity and removing others. In this much-more-complex and outof-balance market, one cause does not contribute to one predictable effect, but to a pattern of results and relations, not all predictable, which in turn cause further adjustments. Netcentric Computing offers single-point management, physical and technical security, stable ownership costs, bandwidth-independent efficiency and universal computer networking. The actual cost of ownership is reduced significantly, and management is significantly simplified. As a result, it is quickly becoming the most dependable method of reducing uncertainty and overall costs. This is useful for building intranet based network. The performance is also a benefit of Netcentric Computing. A server with more processors, faster processors and more memory will accommodate either a larger number of users or users who have higher performance demands. Different processors can be used to manage various user requests. This would increase accessibility and the administrative work on the system is lightened. Wireless as well as wire network technology can be used in Netcentric Computing. They will connect to the netcentric server via the access point by using a wireless network interface card in their network computing devices. Wireless LANs have developed in popularity in a variety of vertical markets including health care, manufacturing,retail and warehousing. The productivity benefits in using hand-held terminals and notebook computers to send actual information to centralized hosts for transmission have benefited these industries. Wireless LANs are increasingly being accepted as a general purpose networking choice for a wide variety of business customers.
