Description

Both Reggie and Arnie are at fault for plagiarism. Lazy students who use shortcuts to give answer for a given assignment question is always susceptible for plagiarism. Because lazy students don’t work hard, so instead they surf the internet or books to copy other resources without giving credit for the writer. In my opinion to avoid plagiarism a student should read more and more to gain more knowledge, and write what he read in his/her own paraphrase in a paper to improve his/her creative writing skill. So that, students will gain the ability to write new ideas or illustrate given assignment within their own capacity that arose from the stored knowledge which was developed by their reading habit. “The best way to avoid plagiarism is to become a good writer! This requires a lot of hard work, and it takes time. So be sure to allow enough time to write your paper. Do not wait until the last minute!” (https://owl.excelsior.edu/plagiarism/plagiarism-how-to-avoid-it/) Student plagiarizes into two reasons. The first one is as I describe in the first paragraph some students are lazy, so they bring other writers without permission by cheating like that is their own work. The second reason is a student may be excellent creative writer, but if the assignment deadline is getting closer and no time then the student will be in hurry that lead him or her to copy and paste which is plagiarism.

In my case as being a student in University of the people I read about plagiarism and the consequences, so that I pledged for myself that I won’t copy other resources without citation and references. My strategies are I always read to increase my writing and English grammar knowledge. I write now and then until my paper become flawless. I insert references with proper citation. Lastly I check my paper with website such as duplichecker for plagiarism. Generally, it is important to give credit to writers with APA citation and references to avoid plagiarism and show that the information is not from our perspective.
