Description

Discussion Forum Unit 7 BUS 3302 Come up with an example of a purchase decision referred to affect. In retrospect, whether or not the purchase decision was wise, how appropriate was this process? A purchase decision is the thought process that leads a consumer from identifying a need, generating options, and choosing a specific product and brand. Some purchase decisions are minor, like buying toothpaste, while other purchases are major, like buying a house. The more major the purchase decision, the more effort is typically put into the process. Wharton (2020). An example of a purchase decision that can be referred to as an effect is when a consumer walks into the supermarket store to make a minor purchase such as buying toothpaste and suddenly the consumer realizes that the store is offering a 50% discount on a laptop. The consumer out of impulse forgets the purpose of coming to the supermarket store to buy toothpaste and decides to purchase the laptop. In retrospect, the decision to purchase the laptop was a wise one because the sale discount met the needs of consumer satisfaction. In addition, the consumer was able to get what was needed immediately to satisfy their needs and this process is known as an impulse purchase. Come up with an example of a purchase decision referred to an external authority. In retrospect, whether or not the purchase decision was wise, how appropriate was this process? An external authority purchase decision occurs when a consumer needs to get approval from someone else, they trust. On purchasing decisions, they consider other people’s opinions on certain decisions so as to know if they can buy or invest on or leave it. For example, a subordinate before making any purchase decisions will have to ask his boss for an alternative way. Another example is when my cousin wants to invest in shares from a certain company, she always asked her father for his approval of the company. The purchase decision to me is wise

because he has more experience in investing in shares and after more research, she always approves of her father's decision.

Come up with an example of a purchase decision referred to as intentional randomization. In retrospect, whether or not the purchase decision was wise, how appropriate was this process? intentional randomization means that “every subject in the population has an equal opportunity of being selected into the sample” (University of the people, n. d). For example, when my two cousins came to visit me, they all want to play the temple run game with my phone, so to me, I always make this decision that whosoever fails to accomplish the mission should give to the other making it fair to them. If I give the oldest one my phone, the little one would feel bad and even cry or hate me. When it comes to purchasing, for example, I love drinking fruit juice and I love different flavors too so I always use this decision to purchase the one I want and it helps me take different flavors at times
