Short Response about how Donald Trump is unethical....

Description

Effective and Ethical Communication Effective and ethical communication refers to the conventional standards of right and wrong that prescribe what people should do and say. In this case Donald Trump has put one of his quite expensive properties on the market. “For Sale: Spectacular Caribbean waterfront property in French St. Martin. Amenities: Swimming pools, tennis court, full staff. Owner: President of the United States, Donald Trump” (Northam, 2017). This Trumps first major divestiture of one of his properties since he has become president. the Executive Director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, Noah Bookbinder has filed a Lawsuit against rump for violating the U.S. Constitutions emoluments clause. Noah also stated that “buying a major piece of property for millions of dollars is a particularly strong way to potentially curry favour with the president”. This is an extremely dubious situation with the buy potentially being able to buy the property for a lot more than it has been listed for. This will inevitably give the buy significant power over trump and my look at the buy in a favourable way and listen to the buyer if they ever call (Chan, 2017). For Trump, making an unethical decision and selling to a buyer whom he obviously knows is obviously not abiding by the law, as the president it would be essential for him to know the laws and ultimately follow them as he is the largest public figure in the United States and all eyes are on him. Trump is not a very objective person he has failed to comment on the situation and has been “warned repeatedly”, “to avoid this type of conflict” and has attempted to sidestep the situation by placing his assets, including real estate, into a revocable trust. This is an attempt to hide his transactions, which points at unethical behaviour and communication as he is not telling the public the full story. The united states public have voted for Donald Trump but have not voted for this mystery buyer who may have a significant pull over the president if is to purchase this property significantly above asking price. Donald Trump has fallen into an unethical trap, The Doctrine-of-Relative-Filth Trap as he has correlated his behaviour beside President Nixon who sold a residence. Northam, 2017)

Trump is engaging in unethical behaviour and therefore renders him as an ineffective and unethical communicator, this has been highlighted as he is a significant public figure and should be aware that people are going to attempt to influence his decisions as president.
