1. How an organizations strategic plan relate to a decision to purchase information technology such as an electronic health record system. Vetting the system to be purchased allows the organization to know what exactly they are looking for. This is to mean that an organization is in a position to identify the number of business entities and know the type of ownership whether private or public (Walker et al., 2005). More so, know whether it is an integrated EHR or not thus indicating the number of years the system is going to last. All these information allows the selection team under which the purchase needs to be taken to have the relevant information to decide whether the system suits their needs. Furthermore, these strategies give room for cost comparisons. An organization will have to compare EHR costs among different vendors in order to settle for the most cost effective system. 2. Known incentives for implementation of an electronic health record The Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive program provides services that allow eligible professionals to practice, embrace and implement EHR. These incentive program provides requirements for the capture of clinical data and provision of copies of electronic health information to patients (Berkowitz & McCarthy, 2013). In addition, eligible professionals are provided with hardship allowances in an effort to boost their morale. Proper training \on the use of EHR is also provided to the relevant practitioners. This is to familiarize them with the system and learn how it works.. Medicare and Medicaid provide funding to the institutions that implement Electronic Health Records (Berkowitz & McCarthy, 2013). This is to allow the relevant bodies in maintaining the record system or in hiring professionals that handle the machines themselves.

3. The role of nursing in the development of these records Nurses take up leadership roles that come with development of EHR systems (Ball, 2000). They are responsible for ensuring proper record keeping in line with system policies. They take up the role of integrating and accelerate the adoption of these technologies to promote practice. This position gives them the power to demand for better medical technologies required by medical staff and the organization as a whole. Furthermore, they take part in information collection on the current technologies and give relevant advice to their seniors. Therefore, they take up administrative roles in the provision of the needed and improved health care facilities. Thus nurses act as a pillar towards technological developments in the health sector as they help leverage technologies to improve care and efficiencies (Ball, 2000). 4. The role of a nurse who specializes in nursing informatics First and foremost, they provide education on the use of the electronic records (ln Hannah, 2015). This education is done through organization of seminars and chat platforms whereby the relevant users ask and answer questions concerning its use. They furthermore take part in the system implementation, work flow analysis and also provide user support whenever needed. Nursing informatics also allows specialists to participate in emerging technologies such as implementation of current ideas, taking concerns and even so monitor its use (ln Hannah, 2015). Despite their technological roles they are not limited to IT as they are in apposition to identify themselves with patients through continuous checkup. This is made possible through monitoring of the systems usability, safety and adoption of strategies that only promote better outcomes.
