ONCE YOU HAVE RECEIVED FEEDBACK FROM YOUR INSTRUCTOR IN THE WEEK 1 INSTRUCTOR MEETUP QUIZ, FINALIZE YOUR TOPIC AND NARROWED TOPIC, AND ADD THEM TO THE “FINAL DECISIONS” TABLE ON THE COVER PAGE.

What has been your own personal experience(s) with this topic?

Two out of three of my sisters have once been on heroin and they found help.

What do you already know about this topic? Where did you get that information?

The amount of heroin overdoses is becoming higher and higher. More people are needing Narcan to revive them. This information is common knowledge from what I see and hear around my town and on the news.

What steps have you taken to discover different viewpoints from your own?

I’ve tried to understand why people do heroin, maybe they didn’t have the best life. But, I will never change my viewpoint of heroin, overdoses, and Narcan. I’ve been through a lot in my life and never turned to drugs.

What is the value in listening to other positions on this topic?

You can understand why people do what they do. Even though there is always another route to turn to other than drugs.

There are also concerns that now that there is something to reverse the effects of the opioids, that more people will use more drugs and possibly even use more lifethreatening drugs knowing that there is something that can reverse the effect if things go wrong. Explain how this source provides information that will help you answer your research question. Prices of naloxone have continued to increase after almost doubling in 2014 alone” (Landers, 2018, p.1069) “Some critics believe that practice may encourage opioid drug use (because people will know they have easy access to a reversal agent) and that current users may engage in heavier opioid use and take more risks, knowing they have a safety net” (Landers, 2018, p.1070)
