Mental Triggers and Gathering points...
Meneses 1 Paula Meneses Professor Arlene Hiss ORG300-1 July 19th, 2020 Essay #1
Module 1: Critical Thinking Assignment: Mental Triggers Worksheet & Gathering Points
The information and tools delivered by Dave Crenshaw on the Time Management Fundamentals Course provide, not only a logical explanation for our lack of productiveness, but also offers real solutions to solve this problem. The assessments and techniques taught by Crenshaw added tremendous value to my day to day routing. They helped me identify several mistakes that are interfering with my productivity and efficiency. Watching this video course could represent the solution for many of us to achieve our full potential, just making some adjustments and creating new habits that will allow us to retrain our brain and overcome the multitasking myth. Through the Mental Trigger Assessment, I found out the following:

By reading out loud the items on the Mental Trigger Assessment I was easily able to identify what areas I needed to work on, as the tasks associated with the triggers popped up in my head immediately. During the exercise to identify my Gathering Points I realized that I had 27 of them, counting the places in my home and my car. I work from home and on the road, but I am pretty sure I would have more gathering points if I had an office space out of my house.
My results on the Time Management Fundamentals exercise were the following:

Although I am just implementing my plan to achieve the goal of having 6 gathering points, I feel this exercise was, is, a life changer for me. With small changes, I was able to improve the flow of my routine and free up space at home. I was more aware of my choices and I corrected myself when repeating patterns that contributed to chaos. Both, the mental trigger exercise and the gathering point assessment added so much value to my day to day. The appropriate adjustment of my schedule using the mental trigger exercise will help me greatly organizing my work at CSU Global, and my work tasks also. I chose to take two classes this term and I am new to this University, so I was not very aware of the load of work we were going to have in each class. Now I realize that between the two classes I have a lot of work, but the fact that this was our first assignment had given me great relief. I would recommend this class to everyone that struggles with time management and organizational issues. As I mentioned before, it is truly a life changer....
