Reaction paper: When Technology Meets Humanity

Digital Ethics, AI, and Humanity (Gerd Leonhard) -

This video tackles the importance of having digital ethics to which I agree. From this video I learned that big companies or the companies that controls majority of the uprising technological machines or apps, should be responsible on how to make sure that machines do not take over humanity. It is necessary to keep humanity alive, such as building relationships and not disconnect with reality.

Technology vs. Humanity (Gerd Leonhard) -

I reflected a lot in this video, I learned that I should think about what career I should pursue and if that career will still be ‘alive’ in the future. I also know that technological algorithms, such in social media, makes it harder for us not to drown in our technologies because it keeps us busy and/or entertained. Although, this technology cannot satiate our human traits like emotional needs. Technology is not good or bad, it is up to humans on how to utilize it, then it becomes what it is.

Digital Transformation (Gerd Leonhard) -

I love how he says “science fiction is becoming science fact” because I just realize that its true! Before when reading comics or watching movies labeled ‘Sci-fi’ there are things that seems impossible but are now in the society. For example, robots, when I hear robots, I think of it like unicorns before, but now it is abundant and helps people in their works like in Japan. It makes me think of “my future”, when I graduate what would the world become? But in conclusion, we should embrace technology, but not become it and look forward to a fully transformed future.

The future of technology and humanity (Gerd Leonhard) -

I am aware that technology is everywhere, and during this pandemic, almost everyone faces technology devices such as phones or laptops. Technology also will become the defining factor of our society, on how advance we are. I learned that it also might be connected to us, to our body, which I think is scary because we might lose our privacy.

We need to talk about AI (Gerd Leonhard) -

I learned about the endless possible usage AI in different fields such as medicine, infrastructure, food, and even redefine poverty. On the other hand, I also learned that if not used for the right goal it may also cause casualties or even worse, death. Due to exponential increase in upgrades and invention of technology we should also embrace it and together design a future that results in human flourishing. We can achieve this by not letting go but to further improve our human traits....
