Summary

This summary discusses the role ethics plays in strategic planning....

Description

Discussion There exist three major types of plans which are considered in business management, which include strategic, tactical, and operational. For the strategic plans, they are designed by the whole organization which is based within the mission of the organization and the top officials within the management such as the CEO are the ones who come up with them. For the tactical plans, they assist in implementing the strategic plan and are also concerned with coordination the lower levels within the department (Bierman, Ferrell & Ferrell, 2016). Operations in the lower level are facilitated by operational plans. I consider “stretch goals to be more effective than incremental objectives” since they contribute towards stimulating and pushing the plans which have been set by the organization. They make the stakeholders involved to be resourceful and aggressive and enable the organization to achieve the challenging tasks (Bierman, Ferrell & Ferrell, 2016). This also enables in aiming at higher objectives instead of simple ones. Stretch goals are more recommendable to the organization since they help in testing the capability of the organization, and through them, the organization can execute challenging tasks. Ethics play a great role during the strategic planning of the business. A business is required to act in the right manner and obey the laws which have been set. Thus, during planning, the business can come up with plans which are not against the role. This, therefore, limits it from instances of being fined because of failing to obey the law. The management is also able to engage in effective decisions which are ethics considerate. Also, the business should be considerate about social responsibility since this contributes towards building a good picture

(Bierman, Ferrell & Ferrell, 2016). Ethics helps in considering behaviors which embrace sincerity and transparency during planning and this contributes towards organization success.
