Evidence Based Practice Assignment Guidelines The purpose of this assignment is to introduce evidence-based nursing practice to the first semester nursing student. Instructions: 1) Go to the My MC library page. 2) Select one nursing research journal article that you find interesting (articles published within the last 5 years only). The article may be an individual research study or a metaanalysis. 3) Email a copy of the article to your professor for approval. If your article has already been selected by another peer, then you will be notified to select new article. 4) Write a brief report and prepare a 5-minute presentation for your class regarding the evidence and subsequent nursing recommendations presented in your article. Assignment guidelines: 1) Type your assignment using 12 point font. 2) Answer all of the questions included in the assignment. 3) Submit a hard copy of your assignment and article to your instructor by the stipulated date. 4) On the assignment due date, be prepared to share with the rest of the class the evidence and nursing recommendations identified in your research study.

Grading Rubric for Evidence-Based Practice Paper & Presentation Criteria Points 1. Student emails article to instructor for approval as per guidelines.

2. Includes the full title of the article and reference using APA 6th edition formatting style. Use APA format for citation and references throughout the paper.

3. Hard copy of article and typed assignment submitted prior to presentation. 4. Appropriate grammar, spelling, and punctuation in the paper.

5. Content Criteria: A. 1) discusses the research problem, 2) its significance to nursing practice, 3) research findings, and 4) recommendations for nursing practice.
