Tonight, was such a fun evening. Paul, my husband and I turned tonight into a date night. First, we went to dinner and then we went to the Westside Baptist Church’s annual Christmas play to enjoy the festivities and watch our professor and Mrs. Michelle sign songs for the deaf community. The entire evening was a fun experience from the beginning. We got there 45 minutes early to try and get good seats. There was Christmas music playing in the parking lot. So, if you weren’t yet in the spirit you were soon to be. We stopped and spoke to several people as we made our way inside. Paul and I have been church shopping for about a year now and this church was on our list. We stopped and got some hot chocolate and went to find our seats. On the way in three different old acquaintances noticed me so it took a while to get to our seats. It was really nice catching up and seeing old familiar faces. Once we got to our seats it was great to see several classmates showed up all dressed up. It was great! The performance started and wow it was fantastic! From the music to the dancers to the interpreters. I actually found myself watching Mrs. Summer and Mrs. Michelle more than the actual event as I kept 1) seeing how much I knew and/or could figure out and 2) Paul kept asking what this and that meant, so I had to try. I found it interesting how Mrs. Michelle looked right at everyone while she signed, and Mrs. Summer looked above everyone as she signed. (I thought, how fantastic I totally wish I would have thought of that before my story telling project. That, too, I am still upset about as I know how to sign every word. As a child my grandmother always put it in my head when talking to someone

you must always look them in their eyes.) Unfortunately, we had to leave a few minutes early at 8:30 PM as my 13 year old dog needed his dinner and his shot....
