Guía de estudio para el Examen Final de SPN 1130 The Final exam covers all six chapters studied this semester, with special emphasis on Chapters 4-6. It evaluates your achievement of the learning objectives, which include cultural information, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension and written expression. The exam’s format is as follow: Listening Comprehension (25 points) There are two sections: 

In the first section, you will read seven comprehension questions in Spanish, so that you know what to listen for. Then you will hear a passage in Spanish read by your instructor twice. You will then write your answers in Spanish. The format is fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and/or multiple choice. (13 pts)



In the second section, your instructor will read a question, repeating it only once. You will then write a logical answer to that question in Spanish. There are six questions. (12 pts)

To prepare for this section: 

Study vocabulary from Capítulos 1-6.



Review the Estructura sections in the textbook.

 

Do the activities in the extra practice folder on Connect. Review textbook’s listening comprehension activities.

Written Component (75 points) Lectura (16 pts) You will read a text in Spanish and then you will answer eight comprehension questions. The format is fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and/or multiple choice. To prepare for this section: 

Study vocabulary from Capítulos 1-6.



Re-read any texts within the chapters (and notes related to readings that you may have taken in class) and make sure that the strategies that you have used have helped you understand the text (ask your instructor if you’re not sure whether you’ve understood a text or not).

Diálogo. (12 pts) You will write in Spanish a logical response to 4 questions in a dialogue, from the point of view of the person indicated, and including all the required structures and information indicated in parentheses. To prepare for this section: 

Composición You will write a composition on a topic pertinent to this semester’s work. There are five 5 bullet points about information you must include. A composition that exceeds expectations should include wellorganized, abundant, and specific details, accurate cultural information, a wide range of vocabulary with accurate spelling and accents, and a range of verb tenses. (19 pts)

To prepare for this section: Review your previous writing, making sure you can correct the errors indicated by your instructor, and any corrections s/he made. Estructuras. There are two sections: 

(18 pts) The verb section tests your ability to talk about events in the past. You must complete a dialogue by choosing one of three verbs in parentheses and then providing the correct form for that context.



(10 pts) You will complete a passage by underlining the correct choice from words in parentheses. There are several grammar topics included.
